Day 9: Sunday Up and Over; Up and Over; Up and Over

Prarie City to Sumpter: 44 miles Poured with rain all night but we packed up and headed out on Hwy 26 and then Hwy 7. Three passes today. Dixie Pass@5277; Tipton Pass@5124; Sumpter Pass@5082. We rode all day in the rain. According to the locals, it has been raining since Memorial Day, which is very unusual. We are in a delightful motel. It used to be a hostel and is built to look like an old stockade. Our room is huge and is strewn with all the gear we are drying out. Sounds like a miserable day but after a warm shower, a glass of wine, and Frank heating up Ragu on the camp stove outside the door, it turns out to be pretty good.
