Day 55 & 56
Pittsburg to Everton. 64 milesEverton to Marshfield MO 52 milesSeattle folks, think Massachusetts Ave up and down all day long! That is the Ozarks. We scream down the hills hoping for enough momentum to help us up the next one. The tops of the hills are like that little piece of road up to the stop sign at the end of the I-90 bridge. Frank is loving it and I am panting along behind. At least the weather is cool and most hills are short. Met a guy from West Seattle, going WB, who really impressed us. He is riding a recumbant that is pedalled with his arms and he has his wheel chair on his trailer. Given the hills here, his ride is truly incredible. We spent last night at Running Springs Farm. It is a preserve that caters to bird hunters. The going rate is $69 but you only have to pay $40 if you sleep on top of the bed in your sleeping bag! The owner doesn't like to change sheets. We have met 3 sets of dogs recently who think they are in Kentucky. Frank thinks he is a 'dog whisperer' and chats them up. I use the direct yelling approach. We will have to perfect our techniques before Kentucky.
