Slide Inn to West Yellowstone 24 miles. Sort of like a day off. Easy riding along Lake Helogen and long chats with other riders. West bound was Jim (our age) who was jealous that we were just starting and his ride would be over in 3 weeks. Riding unloaded with a sag wagon. Two twenty year old girls going east bound. They go to school at Whitman and are carrying more gear than we are. They have a solution for the "naked laundry." They wear their bathing suits. And two 19 year old guys who are doing the Cycle America Mountain Bike route to Mexico. They sleep in public parks and people's front yards and don't seem concerned about showers or clean clothes. West Yellowstone is incredibly touristy, but Frank was able to buy a new flag as his was lost in the wind and rain and chaos of yesterday.
Alison sent this picture yesterday.
40 miles west of Yellowstone with all the gear on the picnic table covered for a thunderstorm.
I hear the iTouch is broken -- hence no news.
ReplyDeleteBetter the iTouch broken than Alison or Frank but I must say I miss the daily update!
