As rumors of this adventure leaked out to family and friends we received invaluable suggestions and advice:
**the blog name (Norine)
CUS@10mph has several interpretations....
*see U.S. at 10 mph
*see us at 10 mph
*cus....as in #!#? why are we doing this?
the 10 mph refers to our anticipated average speed.
**Get into a ditch in case of a tornado (Sheldon)
**Get on a bus in Towner CO and get off in Nashville MO, thus skipping the
entire state of Kansas (me)
**Take a bandana. It has a lot of uses....head covering, handkerchief, bandage,
sweatband, washcloth, tourniquet. (blog on Adventure cycling)
**Do not listen to anyone's advice or suggestions. (Frank)

You can't skip Kansas! It's FLAT. Easy ride a ll the way across plus with the wind blowing constantly you're sure to get a nice push from behind...
ReplyDeleteThis might end up being posted twice, but it seems this whole adventure is already an indie movie. So, guys, you're off the hook and can spend the summer lounging on the couch.
ReplyDeleteCheck out www.cus@10mph.com.
Who would have thunk it?
Kansas is definitely not as flat as they say. I used to bike to work when we lived there and it was a pretty hilly ride. Eastern Kansas is really quite nice I think.
ReplyDeleteYou ought to look into a Dell Mini 9 http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/laptop-inspiron-9?cs=19&s=dhs&ref=homepg They're only a couple hundred and very small and light.
I like Dad's advice,
