So whose idea was this anyway? Truth be told, I think I can blame Ed. A few years ago he decided that he wanted to ride his bike across the country. He, Frank and Eric had some discussions about it but the idea slowly died away. However the seed was set. Then Frank read "The Catfish and Mandela" and an experience the main character had in that book sparked Frank's interest again. This winter he said he was going to do the ride and I had two visions. One, of a solitary cyclist riding down the road all by himself, and the other of a solitary gardener/scrapper/ knitter hanging around Bellevue all by herself. I didn't like either picture. So now we are heading out in June...together.
